How well does this work? I am potentially going to Okoboji for a day this weekend and will be seeing the Muskie gill-netting they do annually.  Then, I will probably be free the rest of the day to fish the bank.  Does bank fishing on Okoboji work?

Most of the lake is developed. Cabins/houses/ and most of the land is private or belongs to the resorts there. Sure there are boat lunches that are public and few areas a guy might be able to fish from the shore. There is a bridge/rip rap area in front of one the resorts that leads into one of the other lakes ... I cant recall which but I think it is Upper Gar.

Take a look at the flowage on the north end of Spirit lake. This is walk-in accessible from Mini-Wakan state park.

 

There's a fair amount of current that moves from a slough into the main lake. At the very least, it's a productive spot for wading/shore fishing for walleye and white bass.
