I wear the $20 Solar Shield fit-overs from Wal-Mart (Walgreens sells them too) because I'm way too cheap to lay down $400 or more for prescription sunglasses. They have 100% UV block, brow and side shields and impact-resistant lenses. They also look kinda dorky, but I'm way past caring about that.

My prescription sunglasses were $300.  Don't really need glasses for anything but close work, but my eyes have aged so that they don't focus well in lower light levels (like what is filtered through sunglasses), so I had to get prescription ones with just mild correction for driving.  They'll be good for fishing too.

I found a pair of spider wire ones on the clearance rack at Walmart for $5. They are a crazy orange color frame, but are the blue blocker style yellow lenses that I wanted to try out for lower light situations. I tried them once so far, and other than my co-angler making fun of them being brighter than the rising sun they were pretty good. Not going to replace my Maui Jim's for most situations though.

I have these also and  great for the price.  However, I really feel that in a situation where a lure is going to come smack me in the glasses, they won't stand up to the impact, so I caution you that High impact lenses are a much better choice in the long run.  Look for lenses that meet ANSI code z80.3 for UVA/UVB eye protection,  Additionally ANSI Z87.1-2003 offers impact or high impact protection.

And with their tax weekend sale, they are $15.00. That's s great deal!

I grabbed a pair at that price. I ended up with $52 order, paid $26 with their tax relief sale. Most were 50 to 70% off
