I caught this out of a 3 acre farm pond last year!! And many other hogs out of various ponds !! I like the isolation I have when fishing ponds..

But I like the unknown (of what's on my line) of fishing lakes.

Nice fish man !

farm ponds can be very intriguing. you never know what they may hold .sure is fun finding out!!

A blast !!! And easier to fish when you have a limited amount of free time !! A small pack and a couple of rods and you can get your bass thumb !!!

the reason I only got two yesterday was the neighbors big yellow lab thought that he would jump in and help!!. he won I quit

I see all kinds of things pond fishing... Gigantic grass carp ... Mushrooms (which I seen you're familiar with too lol)... I once jumped a fawn not 15 feet from me... And I like posting up on the bank over night and catfishing...

Some ponds hold some really nice fish !!! Some ponds have that "stunted" population... When I come across those I bust out an ultra light and 4" senko haha !

I also like fishing small pond/lake better than big lake for bank fishing. It is easier to locate fish and most of the time I see bass chasing shad in the morning. I can catch more than a few from same spot, unlike big lake hardly see any shad, and I hardly catch more than a bass in one spot. I guess bass do school up around shallow in smaller water body.
