I usually stick with senkos and cranks, what do you guys like to use in NC ponds?

folks from NC to give you advice  

Depends on the time of the year, weather conditions etc...

 

If I'm going pond hopping I try to take a about 3 rods... 

 

I like to start out with a chatterbait at first...just my preference. I can cover a lot of water and quickly find out if they're interested in a moving bait...Also a crankbait if you're at a pond that you can bounce the crankbait off us...logs, rocks etc..

 

I also love using a jig....Even though I enjoy fishing moving baits there is nothing like that feeling when you see your line start to move or feel that little thump and you set that hook...

 

Best advise I can give is experiment...don't limit yourself to just one lure. I've done that in the past. I find my "confidence lure" then thats all I fish with....thats a bad idea. 

 

Also this time of the year ponds with pads its always fun to throw frogs...Who doesn't get excited by a topwater blow up.

Trick worms and buzzbaits are my go to. I usually fish trick worms right before it stArts getting dark then when the sun goes down I pull out the buzzbait 

Try a wacky rig worm for bassing fishing in ponds,, I have really good success when no one else can get them to bite. 

Smallest rooster tails possible, use slow pitch jigging

Best advice I have read so far. Do not limit yourself to a specific style of bait, try many, one type bait may get them moving around and then they will try to eat the next bait. Pond fishing is awesome but can also be tough. Good luck and have fun
