bass tracker question

Featured Replies

i just bought my first boat, a 92 bass tracker pro 170. i was wondering if the battery charger that came stock with the boat (mounted undernieth with the gas tank) shuts off automaticly. If not can i overcharge the two batteries? Im new to the boating world and appreciate all the help. Thanks

My 2003 Bass Pro 185 charger turns off automatically.

It charges only one battery.

I am switching it out for a two bank charger as I have added a second trolling motor battery and I want to charge them at the same time.

Check with the Tracker service department at your closest Bass Pro Shop and they can help you.

Not sure with that specific charger, BUT, most (all?) chargers are meant to stay plugged in all the time.  They will go into "float" mode ("float" is the lingo used on my model) when the batteries are fully charged.  "Float" will not burn out your batteries (at least not mine or any I have seen).  Being that yours is a '92, I wouldnt bet the farm on it, but I would assume they work the same.
