Hello I recently bought a boat last year that came with a pair front and back of Hummingbird 788ci sonar gps

 

Ive taken the boat out 6 times and just can't figure out how to read them. It always appears like nothing shows up at all. 

Maybe long lines which I'm assuming is grass but I can't see big drop offs or trees etc. 

This could be very likely be that I just don't know how to read them at all. So I guess what I'm asking is what can I buy to help or what can I do to learn. I've YouTube the subject etc and that came up short

    First thing is the transducer is not a camera and the display is not a video monitor.

    You have to move around for the unit to display the bottom features and fish.

     

    Do a web search for "understanding sonar readings in boat". There are lots of resources to help you.
