Recommendations on travel baitcaster rod

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am finding myself more and more in situations where I am depending on my rod that I have always in my car. That rod is a Ugly Stik GX2 Casting Rod. Super robust and affordable, but at the same time also super heavy and not sensitive.

So, I am wondering if there are some good alternatives out there that are lighter and more sensitive.

I would like to stay in the 3/8 - 1 oz range, length around 6'6 - 7 foot.

Would be great to hear what you guys are using/recommending!

Thanks.

Cheers,
Seb.

Check out the Daiwa Ardito.

Fenwick Methods looks sweet. 5 different parts to mix and match for the action/weight that you want. St Croix has a Tidemaster inshore travel rod too.

Fenwick Methods! I am extremely impressed with the Methods that I own, and I plan to add a couple more to my travel collection.
