bass trackers, in your opinion

Featured Replies

I was looking at some aluminum bass tracker "bass" boats. Moreso in the 16-17' range. I plan on fishing lakes from 30-650 acres with anywhere from no traffic to an immensely populated lake. As you can tell, i like to experiment with lakes. Anyways, what can you list for pros or cons?

i like trackers myself, my uncle had one, my buddy has one and im in the market for one now myself. alot of people say they have bad customer service but i guess thats not as big if its used and older. other than that the older ones i believe are said to be a little to thin and not as wide as some of the more stable aluminums and glass boats. ive never had a problem. ive had a 12' john and this is a stable yacht to me lol if youve never had a bass boat im sure youd be happy with it tho. they are nice boats and they are really affordable.

Good entry level boats.  In my opinion they are a great boat for smaller waters (like you are talking about) and good to break you in before upgrading to a glass boat.  That is what I am hoping to do ....... hopefully with in the year.  Buy a Tracker and learn the ins and outs of boat ownership for a few years and then step up to a glass boat.

Tracker makes a great boat, Mine is an older one but the new ones are a good solid boat. Some of the standard extras are a little on the cheap side but you can always upgrade. I do think most of them are under powered on the outboard and the trolling motor. But what do you want for the price?

If your looking into a NEW tracker, I'd strongly advise spending that money on a used glass boat for about the same money. You WILL want a larger boat, even if you fish on electric only lakes, if nothing else than the storage and space for 2 to 3 fisherman.

If you looking for a used tracker, there are plenty of good deals out there.

Another thing you need to look into is your tow vehicle.
