Superglue bait keeper

Featured Replies

What kind of super glue do you all use when fishing a Ned rig, swim baits, or jigs.  How long do you let the glue set before using it.  I've been using loc tite gel for all 3 and am wondering if there is a better option out there.  I went through a bag of plastics the other day skipping jigs with no fish involved.  I'm not very good at skipping so the beaver kept tearing off.  I was in open water so I know no weeds or any structure were to blame.

When I use it, Loctite Super Gel here (the blue/grey small bottle - 0.14 oz.). A good push for 20 seconds or so and it's ready to go. I rarely use them, but beavers are terrible about ripping and coming off.

loctite gel if you have to use it, but anymore i look for good hooks with good keepers because the glue is just time consuming.

X3 here, use it all the time on my owners ultra ball head jig and my hook keeper for Zman plastic.

when you practice skipping, your jig would land far harder on water surfaces than experience skipping. I once broke off jig head from blade on Zman original chatterbait just from practicing skipping.

I use the Loctite Gel. Then when the plastic's too torn up to continue using I burn it and the glue off with a lighter.

I use HDX superglue, it is the in-house brand for Home Depot.  I prefer liquid over gel because I also use it on leader knots.

It performs really well and is cheap, 4 small tubes for $1.97.  I prefer multiple small tubes because if you mess up & accidently glue the cap on, you aren't throwing away a big bottle of it.  4 tubes last me 6 to 8 months.

Used an Academy sold "fishing" superglue. Somehow the cap came undone and made a mess. How secure is that Loctite tube cap?
