GPS Help

Featured Replies

I have a lawerance H2O-C and mapcreate 6. The MapCreate software seems to be very hard to use and not user friendly.

What does everyone have and with what software for there computer to map locations and routes on the water then put them on there GPS?

Is Garmin any better? Is there software for the computer and is it easy to use?

Thanks

I don't use a seperate program, Just make your routes and waypoints on the unit. If you have a navionics card it works better, more accureate.

I use MS Streets & Trips, Garmin's Topo Series, and Google Earth to pinpoint coords and locations. I'll then plug them into my Lowrance (LMS 339ci). Ill do the same vice versa with waypoints and trails from the unit.

I havent tried the MapCreate but if it compares to the other PC mapping software by Lowrance I would throw it out the window.

Thats a good idea. I will try that. I am going to put the MapCreate software on ebay because it does suck.

I have the H2oC as well and use the navionics usa hot spots chip along with it instead of pc software. It does everything I need it to do without adding a bunch of head ache on my pc. I guess if you are also using the unit for travel as well as fishing/hunting it would make sense to use the PC software.
