Triton torture test????

Featured Replies

Just saw the commercial.  "torture tested in the gulf of Mexico"

saltwater= soft water

freshwater=hard water

ask anyone who has ever waterskied in both!!

Now, don't get me wrong, I think Triton makes a fine quality boat but why would you advertise that it was TORTURE tested on soft water?  Lake Erie,.....that's a place to brag about torture testing.

I thourghly believe the marketing group at Triton felt the average boat buyer would associate the Gulf of Mexico with consistant big waves and beating on the hull regardless of weather.

And its a short drive to the factory

I just seen some pictures today for one of their torture tests and I couldnt believe they could make a bass boat do some of these things. One pic had the nose of the boat buried in the water and the stern/engine was 3-4' out of the water, whipping around to the side (like porpoising a jet ski). The look on the drivers face.....priceless.

The guy showing me the pics today is supposed to email them to me this week when he gets back in the office. Ill post them once I get them.

I think Stratos has tested on Eri. They would run the boat as hard a abosuletly possible trying to destroy them. I've seen a driver having to dodge TM that acutally ripped loose from the mount. I personnaly couldn't figure out how the drivers could survive some of the testing they used to do, without busted spines and broken necks.

Definitely not without the SAS style seats. I can imagine impacted vertebrae after just a few minutes.

and that's on Lake of the Ozarks on a Holiday weekend.  :P

Remember that old ranger commercial, rear view of a bass boat in what looked like the outer banks,lol and they hit a wave and the nose went up and was all but straight up and down, one more degree or a bad gust and they would have flipped.  It may even have been at the beginning of bassmaster one year I think.

That was sick.

White knuckle entertainment.

I have seen that commercial, and saw the video of the Triton Torture test. They literaly beat the crap out of the boat.

I saw a Lund rough water test video a few years ago. it was taken on either lake Erie or Lake Michigan. What those boats and drivers were put through could be describe as "Pure H*ll"

I fish Lake erie alot in the eastern part of the lake, Pa. NY. and it can beat you up on a good day. I have personally seen two TM's come off boats. One was mine.

I have a Sea Nymph Great Lake Special and was running in big water. Hit one wave and the Minkota Power drive went from stow to run Position, hit the next and it went from run to gone position. Now when i go to Erie the Motor Guide has two hold down straps on it.

That's how I lost my power drive MK as well.  I had one of the removable mounts on it.  Hit one wake and it came off the mount and into the air, the next wake bounced it up and over the side.  Sank like a rock in about 30 feet of water on Norfolk lake.

Best thing that ever happened to me was losing that Power drive.  :P

Want a torture test? Try out the 06 Northern B.A.S.S. at Erie Sandusky. 7 boats torn up! 10 footers that were cresting! Matt Spars TRX 20'er was broke in half ! Erie wasn't choosey about boat MFGs. I think she got at least one from all the major mfg's .  Tourney day 2 called off ! 7'ers in the Bay! Life threatening to say the least...no inland lake water will ever bother me again!
