Hi ,

has anyone used a

Michigan Wheel, Rapture Stainless Steel Prop

I found a deal on one that almost seems to good to be true( I have paid the same for Alunium props for what the want this one for). Its new. I just want to know if they are a good prop before I spend the $$

Michigan Wheel has been in business for a long time and I have never heard anything bad about the company. I don't have a clue about the particular prop you mention but if it was the right style, size, pitch and price I wouldn't have any reservations about buying it from Michigan Wheel.

Michigan Wheel has been around a long time.  The rapture is a standard of theirs that's sold by places like Cabela's and Overtons.  As a basic SS prop they'll work fine.  I don't know what boat you're running but if you were looking for better performance overall there are other props out there that would be better,  they'd also cost you more as well.

It's a good, general purpose prop.  Almost any prop is better than aluminum but as cart7 said, it's not a high perfomance prop.  I've been running one for years on a 17 Stratos with a 115 merc and have never had any complaints other than it doesn't have the bow lift I would prefer but still pushes that old boat in the low 50's.

Thanks for the info Guys.

Its going on a 17 1/2 foot Deep V with a 75 Suzuki.

Never had a stainless on it so it will be better than my old props. getting the motor rebuilt so I thought it would be a good time to re-prop it, and move to a stainless

I bought it today.( 3 blade, 19pitch) I couldn't pass up the deal. It was only $140. Like I said I have paid that much for an aluminum prop

Don't know the boat but that sounds like a lot of prop for a 17.5 boat with a 75.  Usually in that size setup I see more 15's and 17's, just depends on the hull and weight.  If you were turning a 19" aluminum near max rpm you should be in good shape though, the stainless will usually give you 100 - 200 more rpm than the same pitch aluminum

I am turning a 17pitch aluninum at max rpm (WOT at 5200rpm for the 75 Suzuki) that is why I went to a 19pitch for the stainless.

Its a 17 1/2 foot Sea Nymph GLS 175

I am also adding a 6 inch jack plate

the 17pitch at max was before the jackplate
