Finicky largemouth

Featured Replies

I'm seeking some help. I've started fishing this small lake in billings Montana that holds largemouth, crappie bluegill, sun perch, catfish and tiger muskie. I've fished it thoroughly like 8 times now. Early early morning like smoky water early, afternoons and late afternoons. I use everything I can think of, swimbaits, crankbaits, spinners, frogs, poppers, I use jigs with big and small trailers, worms of all different sizes and colors with a drop shot, Texas and carolina rig and I can't seem to even get a bite. What is it with my presentation or with these fish that keep me from getting a fish? Anything really really helps! Thanks!

Have you tried a jerk bait or a tube? Jerk bait might give move action while still in the stike zone so they don't have to chase far. It will be helpful so you can dial in on depth and how long you want to take complete your cast. Tube when you crack them will give you more time in an area because they tend to go away from you on the drop from cracking.  Hope this helps.
