First time at Jordan Lake, NC this Saturday. Advice?

Featured Replies

Some friends and I are traveling from the Charlotte area to put two boats in at Jordan on Saturday AM.  Looking for some local knowledge and any other advice.

We will be putting in at Ebenezer ramps.  I've read to get there early as it gets crazy, anyone know at what time it gets busy on a Saturday?  Will 6:30 AM be crazy?

I've read to head east off Ebenezer into the finger lakes.  Thoughts?

Any navigation advice would be welcome.  I know it's a shallow lake and I've seen a lot of stick ups traveling the bridge.

Thanks in advance.

Jordan is a great fishery. My personal favorite spots are on the south east side of the lake, I beat the crowds on that side. I put in at Poes Ridge boat ramp. I personally stay on that southern half of the lake away from all of the main boating areas. It does get hectic and rough just from the casual boaters and jet skis running around the lake.

Thanks for the reply.  What times do the ramps get busy on the weekend mornings?

I meant to type that in my first reply, 8 is am is when it starts getting a lil crowded. This weekend being a holiday weekend it is going to be horrible by noon on all 3 days. Be careful and good luck, it is a great lake!

Thanks

Jordan is going to be a hot mess tomorrow....I'd get out as early as you can. By 10am that place will probably be a zoo. There's several bridges with riprap you may be able to bang a crankbait around that.....I normally fish the marina but tomorrow may be bad for that....

Sorry if I'm being negative it just seems like everyone with a boat takes it out just one day and that's tomorrow....
