Gamma braid early thoughts

Featured Replies

A few guys have PM'ed me about my testing of Gamma braid in the lighter weight and figured I would just share publicly.

Last year I was PP for everything.  This year I have been experimenting with 832 and smackdowwn.  and just spent a few heavy days with Gamma.

First, there is no wrong decision here.  I was preferring the SD a little, but I think I will be adding Gamma for crankbaits and lighter jig setups.  I put 10 lb on CB and 15 on light jigs and the size, knot tying and performance in windy conditions is stellar.....at least for me.

This is thin stuff with good abrasion.  Truth be told, I am in clear open water with little to no grass or muscles.

I will be going bigger for swimming and top waters later next week.

There is so little on the net, I figured I would share initial thoughts.

i used Gamma torque for a little bit , it starts off good but after some use it gets way to soft , easily compararable to daiwa samuri braid . using 10 lb. Torque , with it getting so soft you get more wind knots at the rod tip . i use Sunline SX1 mainly , but also use 6 lb. 832 in neon green . overall , Sunline SX1 is really hard to beat ...
