Hey All,

 

I am contemplating the thought of using the following as a bass and trout setup, thoughts on it being acceptable? (target would be stocked trout in local streams... i.e. gunpowder)

 

Rod: Abu Garcia Veritas 7" Medium

Reel: Lew's Tournament Metal Speed Spin T300 (or could I get away with a T400?)

 

I already have two baitcasters and I need a spinning rod for a drop shot setup but also want to try to make it eligible for trout fishing? At the very least is the rod good for multipurpose (I can always get  lighter reel if needed)...thoughts?

 

Current equipment:

 

My rod setup: Abu Garcia 7' MH w/ Shimano Casitas 150

Secondary/cheap rod setup: Ugly Stick GX2 MH 6'6 w/ kastking legend royale
