Lew's Platinum MSB

Featured Replies

Hey guys I am new to the forum but have been reading and learning a lot.  I am retiring a few old Extreme baitcasters for newer models so Im shopping around.  I have a Abu STX and love it just a bit pricey for my current budget.  I have been looking at the Tournament MG because of all the good things i keep hearing but my local bait shop had a Lew model that I had never seen and cant find much information anywhere.  It is a Lews Platinum MSB for 80 bucks.  If anyone has any info on this reel or experience with it I would love to know what you think.  Any recommendations for a reel around 130 would be greatly appreciated.

Is this the reel? If so, grab it.  Any reel that lists for $220 that you can buy new for $80 is a no brainer.

Yea that is the reel.  Have seen it advertised around the internet for under 120 but no reviews.  Just wondering if anyone has used it and how it compares to the Lews tournament MB or other reels in the price range of 130 or so.

That looks like it would be a graphite framed reel if i were to make a guess. They have had a few reels that they price up in the 120 range and are all plastic. I would stay away and go with the tried and true versions like the Tourney MB.
