Not that these are the only options, but I'm pondering the tradeoff between screen size and the gen 2 enhancements. If you had to choose between the 2nd gen 5 or the 1st gen 7, both with SI, which would it be?

The 7" display. BIGGER is better for the side looking technology.

That was my thought as well, but I wasn't sure if the G2 enhancements were great enough to overcome the screen size pros.

The 7 display is 1" taller screen and one and three quarters inches wider.

 

The H5 has CHIRP sonar, CHIRP Imaging, and built-in Auto Chart Live.

 

If Side Imaging wasn't involved, then the H5 would be the best choice.
