Eagle Cuda 250 Fishfinder/GPS....any advice?

Featured Replies

I want to get a fishfinder for my new reservoir rig.  The place is big, electric motor only, and fishing deep structure is key there.  I am interested in getting a GPS unit to locate and mark such structure.  I was wondering if anyone uses, recommends, or hates this particular unit.

Thanks...

I would be interested also in the BR members take on the 250.  I just bought a used fish & ski from a dealer several weeks ago.  As part of the deal, I asked them to include and install a new trolling motor (at least 50 lb thrust), a new GPS/Fish finder on the dash, and a new ladder all for under $1,000.  They put the Eagle Cuda 250 on the boat.  The downloadable manual (which you can get from the website you listed) is 172 pages long, and the addendum to the manual is 12 pages long.  Luckily spring is a ways off, as it looks like I've got lots of reading to do.

I have not used the 250, but I do have a 242 that I really like.  It works like a champ.  The only difference in them, I believe,  is that the 242 does not have GPS.

I owned a 250 on my last boat and it worked great. I never had a problem with it. I currently have the 168 (no GPS) but pretty much the same thing.
