new battery

Featured Replies

I'll soon be needed to get a new trolling motor battery.  I'd like to get a decent one that I won't have to replace next year or the year after. So my question is, is there a good battery that won't break the bank? Thanks!

I've had good luck with Wal Mart's Everstart marine batteries.  Going on 2.5 years with my Everstart Maxx and it has been problem free.  When the time comes I will replace it with the same model.

I've also used the Walmart brands.  I get 3-4 years typical out of them which is about norm. The batteries were around $65 apiece for a typical Deep cycle.

thanks, i was thinking about getting one of those but most of walmarts products are terrible. but ill have to check it out again. where i live theres a battery store that will trade your old battery + cash for a new battery so i might check there.

Wal Marts batteries are made by Exide (or at least they used to be).

I have batteries from Auto Zone (duralast) and have them in both boats. The cost about $55 and I have had them 4 years in one boat and 3 in the other. With no problem. I alwas put them on charge as soon as I get home and check the water level in them.
