Son left his combo at the pond

Featured Replies

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right forum...feel free to move it to the correct place if needed!

I was out at a little pond in Orange Park, FL and we left my 6 year old son's rod and reel on the bank. It's a Shakespeare Tiger 7' blue and white spinning combo.

We just bought it for him and it started pouring rain and lightning, so we packed up as quick as we could and drove out. We were going fishing the next day and I realized it wasn't in the car.

IF??? by some miracle one of you folks happened to find it (I know a guy named Colton and his dad fish out there also, nice people-we talked a couple times when we happened to show up the same day) and I'm hoping that maybe they found it and don't know how to contact me. I've been back but it's gone, and haven't seen those kind folks anymore.

Really hard to afford to buy him another, so he is back to using his kid rod from when he was 4. I tried to teach him a baitcaster but that was obviously a no-go. He just got frustrated and started finding snail shells. It took a year and a half from the time I introduced him to fishing to get excited about it, so it's kind of a bummer.

It's really my fault, since I didn't do the "dummy check" before we left, and I feel terrible about it.

Thanks for any help you can offer in finding my son's rod and reel. Times are tough right now and I can't really spare the cash to get him something for at least a month.

I hope you get it back, but if you don't I'd be happy to get him a new one.

If this gentleman is unable to purchase it for you if you can not find it, I'd also be willing to purchase him another one. Just let me know.

Wanted to say the folks here are excellent people.

I'm not optimistic about getting it back but I don't give up hope. it was 3 weeks ago. I've posted on FB and local craigslist but no luck.
