Dobyn's DC734 C Application

Featured Replies

I've been playing around with various rod/reel combos lately and I have a '13 Met HG that I want to try on my DC 734.  I use this rod  primarily for soft swimbaits (keitech), toads, and spinnerbaits.

My question is, what are your thoughts on spooling this up with 14lb Sunline Super Sniper Floro?

Why not?  It sounds like a decent worm, fluke, light pitching/flipping rod too.

For sure, its a best seller because its so versatile.. I guess I'm a bit concerned about using floro around lighter cover but 14# on that stick should be fine.

I have 15 pound flouro on and I plan on pitching/flipping this weekend.

The 734 Savvy I have is the most versatile rod I own. I suspect the DC should be even better!

I love it for 1/4oz swimjigs on 14-15lb FC. Great Spinnerbait rod too.

I have the Fury 734C that I was using for 1/2oz and under jigs and I love it.  I recently purchased the XP 744C.

Gary has said many times the 734 is one of the best sellers in every line of his rods.  It is great for toads, spinnerbaits, paddle tail swimbaits, jigs, texas rigs ( 5/8 weight plus hook and bait) and lots more. If the sun Line fluoro gives you too much memory issues you could switch to a line like P Line Halo or Floroclear.  That stuff works for me on my jig rod.
