Inflatable Bass boats?

Featured Replies

once again I was looking into getting an Inflatable boat, mainly due to size and price issues...

I've been looking into the Sevylor Fish Hunter 360 or the Sea Eagle 8

Has anyone tried either of these or used with success? Any recommendations? keeping in mind my poor college student income and size constraints?

Thanks guys!

I have the Sea Eagle 9 with a transom-mount trolling motor and really enjoy it.  It easily fits in the trunk of a car, with room to spare.  How limited is your budget?  Are you planning on rowing it or do you want to mount a motor?

If you are going to throw down $300 to $400 for the sea eagle, then you're probably better off getting a canoe.  I spents weeks researching before I bought.  I finally settled on the Pelican Navigator, 13.5-ft canoe.  It's easy to transport and it only weighs about 50 lbs.  I always fished alone in my canoe, so the weight was a big issue.  I would get the lightest possible boat/canoe/kayak you can afford.  After pulling my canoe up and down some difficult trails to get to the water, my one regret was that I should have gotten a lighter canoe.  You'll know what I'm talking about the first time you try to launch that thing by yourself.

Ahh space was also an issue, I wouldn't know where to put the canoe in my small apt, or if I could even get it on top of my civic, that's why I was looking towards inflatables

By far, the biggest complaint I have if trying to pee over the side of the boat.  Because of the diameter of the pontoons, it's almost impossible to keep from dribbleing on the boat. ;D

Sea Eagle offers floor boards and seats for the raft, but they want an additional $250 for them.  That's an awful lot of money for a couple of pieces of painted plywood.  I made them myself for about $40.

awesome thanks for your input, looks like i'll be saving up for a SE8, haven't heard anything about the Fish Hunter yet...thanks!

I just bought the Fish Master by sevylor, once I try it out on the water I'll post and let you know how it was. I inflated it this past weekend and it seems pretty nice. The pvc material seems like it will be tough to puncture. As soon as it warms up here in VA, I'll put it in at the pond by my house and let you know.
