I am going to buy a 60 hp tiller engine for my War Eagle 20' aluminum boat.

My question:

the transom is 22" from bottom to top (where the motor would sit/clamp). Do I need a long shaft motor or not?

    I am an avid member of a boat restoration forum.  From what I have picked up from there, is that it should work - the transom height measurements are approximate, and you just may need to trim it differently.  It should work.
