Daiwa Steez XT

Featured Replies

Why does the Daiwa Steez XT sell for $200+ cheaper than the other Steez versions?  Are the components worth that much more on the other rods?  Anybody own one in the spinning rod version?  The 1/64 to 1/4 rod rating is amazing on the low end.  I'd be curious to what others think about this rod.  Thanks.

Same reason the Tatula XT sells for 50 less than the regular Tatula. Components

Can I personally tell the difference? Probably not

I'm wondering if it would be worth stepping into that rod for the blank alone or do you need to have the whole package (components)? Because I'm not dropping $500+. Maybe the XT on sale ;)

I believe it is the same blank as the others. $300 could get you a NICE custom build...

I don't know if it's me or if I just haven't developed a proper appreciation but I really don't have much interest in a custom rod.  Maybe I will one day.
