Mercury high voltage alarm

Featured Replies

I have a 2017 mercury pro xs 115 4 stroke on my 17.5 ft ranger.

it runs right at 5950 rpm at wot.

when I get the motor to 5900 RPM the warning buzzer occasionally goes off. it has water pressure, and the motor is rated for 6300 rpm.

Cabelas has it in the shop, working on it.

their computer says it is a high voltage alarm. but  have not yet located the source. it only goes off when the motor reaches 5900 rpm.

Has anybody else had this problem?

Hi, I got this exact error " yesterday on my 2018 Pro XS at 5900 RPM.  I know this post is 3 years old but hoping you will see this and let me know what the issue was.

Thanks,

Thanks Russ!  I was able to tighten my positive battery cable just a bit and have had my boat out several times without experiencing the fault.  How occasional was your alarm?  I'm just wondering if I should still take it to the dealer or wait and see if it happens again.  I still have a 8 months of warranty left.

Thanks,

Bryan

Mine would go off every time It got above 4500 rpm. They first thought it was a battery issue. When a new battery did not fix it they changed the voltage regulator. No more issues for last 4 years.
