Sea Eagle anchor?

Featured Replies

Hi, I've been thinking about buying a Sea Eagle 9, and the only bad thing for me I've heard is it blows everywhere in the wind without an anchor. I saw anchors on Sea Eagle dealer sites, but how do you attach them to the boat? Do you need to buy extra stuff to do so? Would I be able to make an anchor myself, and if so how would I attach that to the boat? Thanks in advance!

I have a Sea Eagle 9.  There is a rope that goes all the way around the boat that you can attach the anchor rope to.  Also, the carry handles on the boat are sturdy enough for an anchor.  I would suggest you buy a 5lb mushroom anchor for your boat.  It's cheap and effective.  You can make your own anchor out of a bag of sand or concrete mix.  Just make sure it weighs at least 5 lbs.

welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd use two 5# mushroom anchors , one on the front and one on the back.

I have an SE-9 with the fishermans dream package and I mounted a winch on the center bench seat. I wrap the anchor line around the winch and then attatch it to a 10lb. mushroom anchor. It works great but I sometimes wish I had a second anchor in the back so the boat wouldn't spin in heavy winds, then again if I got snagged I would have to deal with raising 2 anchors in order to get over to my bait so I think one works best.
