I'll give you the run down on the situation.

A man who is based in new york was left with a sailing boat by his friend who moved to Florida.

This man no longer wants the boat, doesn't have time for it/etc and is willing to give it to us but legally we also don't want to take/buy stolen property.

With that being said, I'm not quite sure where we go from here and the only documentation left behind was a boat registration in his friends name.

What are our legal options?, We're based in new jersey also so any advice on this would be much appreciated.
