1999 Bass Stream 15' w/ Johnson Ocean Pro 90

Featured Replies

I'm going to buy this boat tomorrow for $3500 which I'm thinking it's a great buy.  The boat has no wood and all of the lids are aluminum.  The gel coat is a little faded but that's not a big deal to me.  The motor has less than 80 hours on it and the seller just put a new Minn Kota 45# trolling motor on it a few weeks ago.   :)

Anybody here have any experience's with a Bass Stream Boat or Ocean Pro Motor?    If I could figure out how to post a pic I would but so far I'm not having any luck but I'll try anyway  :)   I will re carpet the boat including the black lids.  I'm pumped!!!

The 97 Stratos below is the one I wanted but I missed it by an hour.  It sold for 5K and that was a deal.

Can't comment on the boat, other than it definetly needs carpet.

The Ocean Pro 90 is a good motor. The only thing different from the Standard Johnson 90 is the fact that it's the saltwater version, so they take extra measure to use parts more suitable for saltwater use, like all stainless steel fastners, bolt, nuts, etc.

With that said though, I would take my compression guage and remote starter button, and do a quick compression check if nothing else, just one of my hangups. The SE Sport hydrofoil tells me it don't have the greatest whole shot in the world. However, looking at that aluminum prop on there could have something to do with that.  Adding a Raker would probably help that. Getting the bow up so the spray is behind you makes for a much nicer ride and a little better speed.

Oh, you are going to test drive it before the money changes hands I hope, make sure all pumps and controls work, and steering cable is free and not tight or snug.

Knew a guy that had a mid 80's glasstream.  Quick little boat. Hull was fairly light but also made for a bouncy ride.  Other than that can't help ya.
