mounting transducer and running wires on powerdriv

Featured Replies

I just purchased a Minn Kota Pd (see post Tm Connection) 24v.  I re-wired utilizing 6 ga. wire (less resistance) and have batteries in back of boat where I mounted a 60 amp brkr and charger.  If you could give a bit more details on what your after I "may" be able to help..

i want to know the best way to hook up and run the wires to a transducer mounted on a powerdrive motor. im not sure how the wires would run for the transducer down the motor sense the shaft slides through so much when raising and lowering the motor

I am most likely about to get one soon.  The previous owner said he would leave the Xducer on, since he has an extra.  If you don't mind waiting a week or so, I could tell you the way he has it.

On my old power drive I had the wire taped to the bottom of the shaft, by the motor, and at the top, by the head. and let the wire run past the mount. you have to keep makeing sure the wire stays tight. once it starts to have some slack it will bow out when running and if your not careful you prop will hit it an cut it. I had this happen a few times. I just used electric, black tape, and checked it offten and replaced the tape every few trips.

Sry, i misunderstood the post, i have universal sonar, no wires  needed...
