gps module

Featured Replies

well i just drop the $1200 for the lowrance lcx-28 HD and this thing is freaking awesome i love, but any ways i had a x-17 on the console which the x-28 took the place of, but the x-17 needs the lgc-2000 gps module but the x28 needs the lgc-3000 module they both have different connectors but is there any that i could use the some module for both of them?

The problem, like you said, is that the 2 modules use different connectors.  The old connector wasn't NMEA 2000 compliant so Lowrance had to change it.  The latest update for your LCX-17 is from 2005 and doesn't offer support for the new LGC-3000 gps module.  Some of last years models did recieve and update for LGC-3000 support though, so unless there was a way to connect the new module to and old unit what good would that do anybody.  I think you best bet would be to contact Lowrance and see if they offer a solution for you.
