good canoe seat?

Featured Replies

I have standard wood framed web seats in my Old towne osprey 140.

My back gets a little tight at the end of long day.

Does anyone out there use a canoe and have a seat that gives good back support?

The ones I see in BPS etc. don't look very supportive.

thanks,

avid.

Some of the higher price bass boat seats are known for there extreme comfort to those with bad backs.  You can get a good used one for a reasonable price.

Heck, I am sure Muddy can catch you a great deal.  ;D

Avid i can give you some of the best advise possible on this one.I had a scott and a esquif

mallard canoe and on each i ordered from porter brothers canoe works replacement seats.

All i did was remove the hangers bolts, they made replacement seats of solid wood,i then attached

a pedestal base and then all you have to do is drop your bass boat seat right in the pedestal

base mount! The best part is the seat can be removed to lessen weight. 8-)
