I love fishing the drop shot.  

What line do you guys use?

What weight of sinker for lets say, 20' or less?

What kind of worm and hook size do you use if you want to catch a 3+ lber on a drop shot?

The biggest that i have caught is about 2lbs but i love fishing it.  I out-fish all other baits about 8-1. I love the tick you feel too and you know one has it.

Does anybody else have the drop shot craze like me?

I tried drop shotting for the first time about two months ago and I'm hooked. It's funny because I've always been a power fisherman and only resorted to finesse fishing as a last resort, but now I always keep a rod rigged for drop shot. The areas I fish get pounded by fishermen throwing shaky heads all day and I am having a lot of success following right behind them with the drop shot.  I think that a lot of the drop shots appeal is that it's just something a little different from what the fish are used to seeing. I like the Zoom 4" Meathead, but I've caught fish on all kinds of other baits as well. My biggest drop shot bass was 3.25 lbs caught on the back half of a broken trick worm. I use 1/8 oz weights for shallow water and 1/4 oz for deeper.  I'm using a 6'6" med action spinning rod, but I haven't found a line I really like yet. Are you having the same problem with fish tangling your rig? It seems like I have to retie after every couple of fish because they just tangle that drop line all to heck.

Yes, i get that problem almost every fish.  I have had my line break off below the hook and i am just left with a hook and worm.

Try P-Line CX premium. I use it in 8lb test. It is very sensitive and has a little bit of stretch. Most people i have heard said that this is a great drop shotting line so i gave it a try and its great i can feel everything.

So far I've just been hooking it through the head.

Me too. Im going to try wacky after the head of the worm is torn up.  I think that rigging it wacky might catch some larger fish.

Line- 8lb Triple Fish Fluorocarbon

Rod- G-Blank dropshot spinning rod

Reel- Okuma Inspira

Hook- Gamy #2 dropshot hook for everything.

Weight- If there was some way I could get some West Coast Tackle Quick Drop Sinkers here on the East Coast I would use them. But I am forced to use the inferior ones from BPS.

Line: 6# SeaGuar Invizx (awesome!)

Reel: Size 20 Rapala Sxi6

Rod: 7' Lamiglas "Drop Shot Special"

Sinker weight: varies but for the most part 1/8 - 1/4 but mostly 3/16 oz

Hooks: Size 2 gamakatsu splitshot/drop shot hooks for everything

Baits: usually robo worms and sniper snubs.

I'm telling you, it isn't even a fair fight for the fish with this set up. ;D

Drop Shotting has accounted for 100% of my bass this season. I love it because of its simplicity

I've landed 3-4 lb bass with size 2 hooks.
