Bare with me for a little bit. I am finally tired fishing out of a little boat. I want a boat that can pretty much do it all. I mostly bass fish, but want to be able to troll for trout, or possibly make it out on the ocean. I found this boat and was wondering if it is a decent deal. It has everything I want on it.

sounds like a deal to me. I fish from a 17'6" v hull with a 75hp on it and its a good all around boat. At that boat will last you for years and years.

the only question I have is what typr of Merc 75Hp is it. 4 stroke, 2 stroke carb, optimax? reason I ask, I don't live in Ca, but I hear the emmission laws out there are tough. and that a old 2 stroke are not aloud on some water. I would check the laws on the water you fish and see if the motor is able to be used on those waters. It is I say buy it. But get the motors check out to make sure they are in good working order.

They said it was a 4 stroke.   Would a 75 horse push that boat around pretty good?  I want to go and look at it Friday.  Any things I should look for?

If its a 4 stroke your in luck, can use it anywhere.

The 75 will push it good. My 75 2 stroke ( Suzuki 75 Hp 2 stroke, 6 in jack plate) will top out at 36-37mph on the GPS. That is a 17'6" boat  tournament rigged, 2 guys, 4 batteries, TM, 25 gal gas, gear, 36 gal water.

On tracker's web site that boat with a 75 Merc  4 stroke will run 35-37mph and max hp is 90, so your close to max HP. that's good. Band new its $19,995 + tax and prep. and yours has full tops, 2 DF with GPS color, 2 downriggers and a 8hp Kicker. that is alot of $$ in extras. still sound like a good deal.

Congrats on the new ride. I have the 2004 Targa 17SC with the 90ELPTO and I get mid 40's with just me on board no top though so you should get mid to high 30's out of her with just you on board.

Does that 75 have a jack plate and is the transom raised?  Also, is your prop designed for maximum hole shot, accelleration, or top speed?  You might be able to get that lil merc to push you around a good bit faster.  My stepdad is running an Xpress 16ft johnboat with a 50hp Merc on it and he gets high forties low fifties in it.  Insane huh??  (Tunnel hull, transom raised 8 inches, 10in jackplate, speed prop, and a bunch of other crap)

Thanks for your replies.  It doesnt have a jack plate and I am not sure what kind of prop it has on it.  Of course I would like the bigger motor, but I am kinda limited to what I can spend and I'm not seeing a lot of these boats on the used market.  I am going to look at it tomarrow and we will take for a ride in the lake.
