Onboard battery chargers...

Featured Replies

Im new to the whole fishing from a boat and am going to get a jon boat and modify it this summer and i see a bunch of people using the onboard battery chargers/maintainers.  i was wanderin if anyone knew how those worked.  do you have to plug them into a source, or what?

Some have to be plugged into a 110v outlet and some work off the boats alternator charging the batteries as you run the main motor. I have a Dual Pro 2 banks by 10amps each that has to be plugged in a 110 outlet the choice is yours. My motor has a motorcycle type charging system and I was advised by the dealer not to use on fly chargers but if you have a motor that has an alternator that may be the way to go.
