Hey i'm at Fort Lee for a couple more months and was wondering if there are some good ponds that I need to check out? Preferablly within an hour drive. I did my homework and dug up some old forum and found some info. 

I checked out quite a few spots on this list and had just a little luck. Of the ponds I went to they all had a lot of fishing pressure. The best fishing I had up here is private ponds but I don't want to constantly bother them so I can fish. Fishing the dutch gap is a hit or a miss, but I did catch a 5lber our of there. I don't have a boat or a kayak right now so I/m stuck bank fishing. I'm pretty discouraged with lake fishing. I can't seem to catch much from the shore and I even rented a boat at lake chickahominy and went out for 6 hours and I threw everything I had from chatterbait, creature bait, spinner bait, poppers, whopper poppers, wacky rig, lizzards. I shore fished at Lake Lee and didn't catch anything, and I talked to a couple boaters and they said it was a slow day.

 

Tommorow I'm going to go check out Amelia lake and shore fish. If y'all know any good ponds around here please let me know.
