The snowball effect.

Featured Replies

My goal for the year was to replace the decks and floor in my little 14' V.  I did that and decided to rewire while I had the boat apart and accessible.  Since it got rewired, I thought a new battery would be nice.  So I upgraded to a class 29 deep cycle battery for my TM.  Not long after that, I had a wheel bearing go bad on my trailer again.  Upon close inspection I noticed the axle was cracked.  I was lucky not to lose an entire wheel on the road.  Naturally, a new axle (and tires) found its way onto my trailer.  Feeling good about all the "newness" led me to search out a new TM.  Found one and bought it.  MK 40 Edge bow mount...6 months old, used 3x, $250.  The only "old" thing left other than the hull was the motor.  That 20+ year old Gamefisher 7.5 hp was a good engine but is no longer mine... sold.  Yesterday I hung a 2006 Yamaha 9.9 on my little pond-hoppper.  Saturday should be fun!

So, I guess nobody told you that boat is actually an acronym...

B.O.A.T.

Break out another thousand.

Wish I could do that with all the joints in my body.   ;D

What ever you do, DO NOT change the oil in your car till your finances are caught up  ;D

Best of luck with your new rig, ever consider a coat of paint to pretty the girl up?  There are some nice colors I can think of that would go quite nicely with the Yamaha motor color.  Would certainly make it 1 of a kind also.

A nice paint job is the only thing left. ;)

I am actually working on the trailer right now.  I'm converting the old roller bunks to carpeted ones and replacing the steps.  The tinkering with this and that has been alot of fun and shouldn't be hard to continue.  Thanks for comments guys! :)

Don't forget to post some pix after the paint job.

Dink,

Did the last blade finally fall off of the prop on that old 7.5?  ;D

Congrats on the new motor! I'm guessing few boats see as much time on the water as yours.

Man you wouldn't believe the difference in speed and handling.  Night and day!  The paint job might have to wait a bit.... too much fun fishing out of the old girl.  Maybe I'll just post some pics of her now with the existing color... Scumline Blue ;D ;D ;D.
