I started fishing in July and I’ve been fishing mostly the neighborhood ponds on the east side of orlando. I got pretty good with a Senko or trick worm, learned the ponds, and generally could catch 2-3 fish an hour (including dinks) with my son. I haven’t been fishing since September due to work but I’ve been a few days in a row now and I can’t catch squat. 

 

 

I tried a few different colors in the 4” length, I even tried a ratt-l-trap and a one-minus which I’ve never had luck with before but why not. I’ve tried a lot of searching online and most tips are related to bass boats I assume as they describe 7+ft of water. Any tips? What am I missing? I’m not even getting a bite. :-/

Rat L Traps and small shallow running crankbaits have been great for me and my son from the bank. Also, the zoom swimmin fluke on a 4/0 owner beast hook. 

You can't go wrong with a one knocker royalty or flashy mama also try crawfish(i love flappy daddy june bug) if you see any shad or minnows skittering(Don't even think that's a word...lol) fish it hard.

It’s strange I do see minnows swimming but no bites. Maybe I’m just not throwing the right things, or I’m fishing it wrong. I’m pretty new so it’s probably that I’m fishing it wrong.

You cant ever really go wrong with a senko in ponds. Maybe try experimenting using it with and without a weight. It doesnt seem like much but the rate of fall and the way it moves without a weight is a huge difference. Bass are more slow moving when the water temps are low so a bait that is falling slow will be more likely to get hit.

Well, it's a word now, and should be. I'm quite sure I know what you meant. Bass were chasing, causing the shad and minnows to skitter across the surface. Love it!
