Ponds near Port Richey, Hudson Florida?

Will be in Hufson Florida on Monday 20th for probably a month. Need to find some places to bass fish while I'm there. Ponds, golf courses, retaining ponds or your boat lol. From Google maps there's not much there, cpl ponds that are surrounded by houses. Will these ponds be private property that are surrounded by houses can I legally wade in the water? Or try and find a home owner to ask?  My home lake in TX is Fork so any favors would be gladly returned, thanks.
