Thanks to everyone for the messages and posts. I went with the following 2  setups.

Curado K with NRX 853C JWR

Stadic CI4+ with Enigma EAM-610

Good choice with the NRX 853c. Not sure what to think of the Enigma, it's a mystery....

Hahaha. Thank you. Aaron Martens himself sold us on the spinning rod. That along with the sunline braid, and sniper FC to run on it. Said to go with the Steez, but I couldn't do it with that price.

Don't forget to get back to us with a review.  I am especially looking forward to your comments on the Curado K as I am somewhat of a reel fanatic.  :teeth3:

I too am thinking of trying a more expensive rod.  Something like an ALX Zolo, but I want versatility so specifically looking at the Deputy or Toadface.

Honestly I wouldn't be the best person to review items. This is the first year that I have fished a lot. Moved to Tennessee, and inherited a boat. I read great reviews on the K and got it for $130 at bamafrogs.com. Wanted a Chronarch MGL but couldn't find it discounted.

Nice price on the K.  Congratulations on it and the rest of the rods and reels you bought. As much as I'd like another reel, I am going to pass on one for now.  I have too many compared to the number of rods I have.

So you have been fishing one year and are already into an NRX?  Didn't take the Bait Monkey long to find you.  :teeth:

Beware.  The addiction doesn't get better.  Thanks to 3 older reels given to me for services rendered (keep your mind out of the gutter :laughing7: ) I now have around 8 more reels than rods.

Haha. Services rendered.

We have a large collection of rods. Loomis GLX, IMX, GL2's, and some Megabass rods. All older, and all reels were Daiwa. Wanted to add to the colllection, and didn't want to go backwards. Can't skip, or throw light baits on a baitcaster so needed to add a spinning reel. Seems like all I am successful with are worms. So upgraded in that department.

NRX 852 with a Metanium MGL.

What had you go with the 852 over the 853?

For me its a more versatile blank, its also more sensitive to me.

I would probably say I would get a good MH/F rod, but I got a 7'2" MH/R Daiwa Tatula Glass Cranking rod a few months back and that's been my favorite rod to fish (mostly squarebills but occasionally a smaller spinnerbait too), so I'd probably start there.
