Pickwick TN, Asian Carp, weighted white bags

Featured Replies

About 2 weeks ago I located a school of 30 or 40 large Asian Carp in Dry Creek, Pickwick Lake, TN on my side imaging. I know they were Asian Carp because I foul hooked and landed one in the 15 lb. class.  This is certainly disheartening for me because I love to fish what little grass we have in the lake! Has anyone else seen the carp in Pickwick?

Next subject. I have seen what appears to be cement in white fabric bags in several locations  including in the Burton Branch and Dry Creek areas.  If you hang one of these with a crankbait it is almost impossible to retrieve the lure. They appear to be holding down something similar to wooden pallets. Does anyone know what these are?

there have been tons and tons of reports of asian carp being caught by commercial fisherman out of bear creek.  The cement in white bags sounds interesting, id like to know what this would be? I do know that crappie fisherman use wood pallets with vertical wood stakes on them to make stake beds...could that be it?

I don't know about crappie fisherman using pallets, but I did see a "panfish" fisherman, not sure he was fishing for crappie, fishing close to one of them. The problem with them, as far as I am concerned, is losing my crankbaits when I hang them!!!! You just can't hardly get the treble hooks out of the fabric!!!!
