Southern Cali has fish, lots of pics

Featured Replies

Just got back from a week fishing the Lower Colorado River and the back waters, south of Blythe and north of Yuma.  Due to business I am lucky to spend a good amount of time there each year.  2017 was my second full year bass fishing so I'm new and learning each trip.

This recent stretch over new years was a great learning experience for me because I forced myself to use different techniques, some successful and others not so much.  We caught fish every day on the backwaters and nothing on the main river.

I know there are fish somewhere here in California. Too bad they are not here in my lake since I have not caught a darn thing the past two weeks lol.

Someone told me recently that Canyon Lake is pretty darn low right now making the fishing tough.

Low? Water level? We gain almost 4' after last rain, the water level is perfect for spawning season just wait for the bass to move in.
