replacing thru-hull

Featured Replies

i need to replace one of my thru-hulls (live well drain).

What's the easiest way to get an old one out and would you use 5200 to cement the new one in?

Depend on what was used to seal it in,4200 3m is a medium caulk,5200 more of a permanate fix, going through the same thing now with mine only mine came out easy because it had no caulk around it!

Installing a inline check valve on mine.

well the bad part (sorta) was that it was easy to get it out of the transom (nothing really holding it in).

now getting the hose off of the neck of old thru hull. is there a secret or is it all elbow grease?

it's almost as if the hose has fused to the thru-hull, and it doesnt look like i have enough extra hose to just cut it loose.

suggestions, tips, tricks?
