Partly Cloudy

Wind ESE 20-25

Water temp 72.5*

No current other then wind driven

Water light stain

Went to Lox (south end) with Rick this morning.  The first thing we noticed is they were not releasing water out the south or east canal.  The first two hours were perfect, with light winds, and partly cloudy skies.   We both started with frogs.  I had a Horny Toad, and Rick was walking a hollow body.  Within minutes Rick broke the Ice with a nice one.  The H/T got no stiffs, so I switched to a Stick Bait and got bit right away.  I was walking the S/B along the bottom and as long as I kept it moving, but slow, the bite was good.  We both caught some quality bass in the 3 to 4 range, along with some dinks.  Around 9:00 the wind increased to a steady 20-25 MPH.  Without power Poles, I thought about putting out the drift bag, but just kept fishing.  Once the wind climbed, the bite got spotty.  We would catch 3 or 4 and then nothing for half hour.  We let the wind help us as much as possible by pushing us along the spoil bank.  Rick had some chasers on a swim bait out in the open flat, but could not get them hooked up.

Most of Rick's bites were on a Hollow Body Frog walking on the surface.  Most of my bites were on a weightless stick bait walking slowly along the bottom among the grass.  We finished with 23 bass, at least 5 in the 3 to 4 pound range, and a group of dinks.  It was a fun day, with good company, and some cooperating fish.  Pictures may follow!

I don't use the north ramps.  Better access to the flats from the south side.  Lox Road ramps, don't put in the airboat ramp area, go further up the levee to the boat ramps.

Thanks geo. I almost made that mistake of using the airboat ramp. The day was gorgeous but i didn't have to much luck. Around 12 small ones. But I'll definitely be back os gorgeous and to my surprise is covered with underwater vegetation which is something I've never fished.

And thank you guys for always replying and helping.

When its tough, with blue bird sky, and sun get high, Cast close to the reeds, let it settle and fish slow. There are tons of bass there, either hugging the shade stem lines, or buried deep in the veggies.  I'm going tomorrow morning.

38 is a good number, and a fun day.  See you out there.

It was tough until about noon.  Then I tried snapping a u-vibe off the bottom and letting it fall back.  The vibration from the vibe suddenly snapping did the trick.
