Hey Guys

So I remembered I have 50$ in Cabela's gift cards. So I raised budget.

Which would you go with?

Thanks Rick

If I knew a little more about how you plan to use it, I might be able to help you out. If you do a lot of punching heavy, matted vegetation, you might lean toward the heavy action Dobyns. if you mainly pitch, flip, or skip it'd likely be too much rod.  I, personally, punch with a rod i built on a MH/F 7'3" Forecast blank that I cut down three inches. I use it for everything but football jigs.

If you get the ALX you have to report back.  Can't tell you how many times I've almost walked out of Cabelas with one in my hand.

On a side note, Dobyns power has me confused.  I thought a 4 power was MH but it seems to depend on who you ask.

Fish mostly lay downs, docks, brush, not a lot of mats around here. Got a Frog rod already so I use that if it gets thick.

Thanks Rick

Yes the Dobyns is more MH than H. Not sure why there labeled like that?

I'm leaning towards the  Dobyns. It balances better with my reel on it than the ALX.

Even though the ALX is lighter.

Thanks Rick

Neither.
