I'm looking at finally getting a powerpole for my yak and have bought an adapter plate for mounting.  I plan on buying the power pack and a 3rd party 9 ft pole.

 

I will be unmounting and switching it to my dads alum boat when we fish.  Should I consider the c-clamp mount for his boat?

 

Are there any tips/tricks/modifications I should be aware of or any money savers?
