Does anyone know in SD Card that came with unit is neccessary?  Grandson for whatever reason, pulled it to read the label, and accidently dropped it overboard. Unit, still functions normally, does not seem to be affected not having the SD card engaged. Trying to find out if I need to order another one. Lowrance is, for me, difficult to get in touch with.

probably your insight mapping chip. will not affect the unit. you just loose your mapping.
