Do you have any idea the max amp draw for a Ray Jefferson 6700 VHF radio?  Thanks in advance.

Sorry James_Heddon,  I can normally find almost anything i need on the net but this was stoped me cold.  

The one way that you could is by powering it up anc connecting a fluke meter (Used to measure the amprage moving through wire) to read the amp draw at differenft states of operation..  receiving, sending, and of course just being on.  Sorry i could not provide more info.   If it is not under warranty open that puppy up who know their may be a sticker in side under the cover that gives you the info that you seak.

Same here CGH.  I searched the net high and low but found nothing.  I did consider opening it up to take a look.  One of the guys here at work told me his Radio Shack unit takes a 2amp fuse.  2amp sounds good enough to me.  As the unit was given to me, and has no warranty, I really don't stand to loose a lot, but using a fuse sure beats "hot-wiring" in straight to the battery.

2 amp is standard.
