How good are the typhoon reels

Featured Replies

Hey guys I’ve been looking at a reel called the typhoon made by a company I can’t say for some reason, but if you know what I’m talking about is it a good reel and would it be good for froggin

I have a couple of other reels made by them, and am satisfied with them. I’m interested in trying their rods as well

I feel like there are better reels out there for that price, you never know what you’re going to get with those companies. I’d look at Lew’s Laser Pro Speed Spool SLP, $80 on sale at Cabela’s. Cabela’s has quite a few reels on sale at the moment, Daiwa Fuego, Abu Garcia Pro Max, Cabela’s Arachnid. All good reels and around the price point of the Typhoon.

I have a Typhoon. Tried it out when they had a BOGO sale with the Cyclone. It's all right. I wouldn't use it for frogging. More for light baits like weightless plastics, in my opinion. I wouldn't buy another one, if that helps you at all.
