Can a mercury control box be used with an Evinrude

I have a Quicksilver 16900A15 throttle/shift control side mount which is for a mercury outboard.

I put a 1976 Evinrude 85 hp on the boat, but the wiring harness and shift/throttle cables have different connectors and fittings.

Can I make the mercury Quicksilver control work with the Evinrude engine? If so, suggestions please.

    Sell the Merc box on Ebay and buy an Evinrude at the same place.
